Pounded Yam is a popular African dish similar to mashed potatoes but heavier. Pounded Yam is very smooth and tasty. It is often eaten with vegetable soup.

    Ingredients

  • 2 cups yam powder
  • 2 cups of water

    Directions

  1. Bring 2 cups of water to a boil on a stove top. Use a 2 Qt pot or larger. Whilst still on the stove top add the yam powder and mix it together using a wooden spoon. The pounded yam is ready when it smoothens and thickens into a dough.
