Family Ingredients celebrates the many cultures that have shaped Hawai'i through food and untold stories. Host/Chef Ed Kenney explores food memories and family tales that take us from Hawai‘i to across the Pacific and the back with dishes and family tales that open up stories of the human experience one recipe at a time.

Ed is our perfect guide whose philosophy of “local first, organic whenever possible and aloha always” resonates throughout the series. He embarks on a path of revelation, inspiration and enlightment with friends old and new that follows their cherished family dish from a Hawai‘i neighborhood to its origin. From Monterey California to the Philippines, Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe reservation in Wisconsin, Vietnam and Lana‘i Island, we learn how to blend ingredients to make a more delicious recipe – a metaphor on how multiculturalism strengthens us all.

Join Family Ingredients as we travel, search, discover, eat, and celebrate our diverse multicultural influences that make us who we are today.
