Christy is a television chef and host of her own long-running Texas cooking and lifestyle television series, Just Like Home that has expanded to audiences in Fargo, ND and Des Moines, IA.

Christy's expertise in celebrating home and family will be featured nationwide in the fall of 2009 on PBS and CREATE TV stations with her one-hour Holiday production for American Public Television, A Home for Christy Rost: Thanksgiving, centered around her stunning 1898 mountain home, "Swan's Nest" in Breckenridge, Colorado.

Christy is the author of two cookbooks, a spokesperson, radio personality, culinary instructor, popular guest presenter for retailers, home shows, and charities, and is a passionate expert in the celebration of Home and Family. Christy is a licensed Registered Nurse, an avid gardener, and shares her realistic, attainable, and signature approach to casual living with an affordable, elegant flair, and her particular sense and commitment to making family feel special and friends feel like family.

Christy's cookbook, The Family Table: Where Great Food, Friends, and Family Gather Together (Capital Books, Inc.) was published in 2004 and was released in a new paperback edition in September 2005. The Family Table is designed to inspire families, friends, and neighbors to gather around the table to celebrate daily life and special occasions. Her book contains 250 original recipes, extensive wine notes and wine suggestions, and entertaining tips. The foreword was written by Master Chef and award-winning PBS host, Martin Yan of Yan Can Cook.

Christy's newest cookbook is Where's My Spatula? Fast, Healthy Meals When Your Kitchen or Your Life Is A Mess (Capital Books, Inc.). Christy knows first-hand how messy life can be. She developed the recipes and wrote this book while restoring an 1898 historic home in Colorado. In Where's My Spatula? Christy provides quick, easy recipes and solutions for getting delicious, nutritious meals on the table day after day. Who needs to stop at the drive-thru lane for dinner when home cooking is this fast and flavorful!
