Laura began eating green over 25 years ago when vegetarian recipes were hard to find, so she began creating her own. Laura worked with Marcy Baskin, author of Hingham Grain and Spice Cookbook, and counseled with nutritionist and life extension specialist, Oz Garcia. She became intrigued with developing accessible recipes based on vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and non-animal proteins. Laura made it her goal to bring easy vegan cooking to kitchens across America.
As a jazz singer and songwriter, Laura has recorded six solo CDs, including her award winning disc, Tonight's the Night. Her critically acclaimed 2009 release with Joe Beck, Golden Earrings, was included on the 52nd Grammy List in Best Jazz Vocal category. She has toured throughout the country, performing at numerous major events, such as Night of 100 Stars, Fire & Ice Ball, and The American Film Awards.
Her latest cookbook, Jazzy Vegetarian, features all of the recipes in her new television series. Publishers will release the cookbook in fall of 2011 to coincide with the release of the television series.
