Yield: Serves 4

    Ingredients

  • 4 Granny Smith apples peeled, and cut into small chunks
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon or more to taste

    Directions

  1. Bring all the ingredients to a boil in a large saucepan. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and cook until the apples are tender, about 30 minutes. Place the apple mixture in a food processor and process until smooth. (For a chunkier sauce, mash with a fork, whisk, or potato masher.) Serve warm or refrigerate until cold.
