In a pot, over medium heat, cook 1 pound ground beef, 1/2 yellow onion (finely chopped), and 1 clove garlic (finely chopped) until browned. Spoon off any fat. Add two 14.5-ounce cans beef broth, one 14.5-ounce can diced tomatoes, one 15.5-ounce can beans, 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder, and 1/2 teaspoon salt and simmer for 10 minutes.
