Warm Maple Vinaigrette

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup minced red onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 5 turns of the black pepper mill
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup cider vinegar
  • 2/3 cup maple syrup

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, melt the butter. Add the red onion and the salt. Cook until onions are soft and translucent. Throw in the nutmeg, pepper and vinegar. Bring it up to a boil and add the syrup. Reduce by half.
