These simple cookies taste amazing with a glass of wine. Sugar and cinnamon pair very nicely with wine.

    Ingredients

  • 1 quart oil
  • 1 quart sugar
  • 1 quart wine
  • 1 box anise seeds
  • juice and rind of 1 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 5 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 4-5 cups flour

    Directions

  1. Mix all ingredients together.
  2. Roll into balls the size of walnuts.
  3. Roll in granular sugar and bake at 375 for 10 minutes or until lightly cracked and tan
