Meet Alvina Maynard

Alvina Maynard raises alpacas, as the owner of River Hill Ranch in Richmond, Kentucky.

Alvina left home at 17 to join the Air Force Academy, and then the Air Force Reserves. Now she raises alpacas, as the owner of River Hill Ranch in Richmond, Kentucky. She says she is blessed to be able to sit on her front porch each day nestled among the green, rolling hills, and watch these funny creatures.

Alvina says living in the countryside is part of her soul, and raising Alpacas has given her purpose. She talks of the simple pleasures of farm life and having her daughter grow up in an environment where she will understand the value of hard work.
