Making, eating, and giving away holiday treats is a tradition my kids and I look forward to every Christmas season. I have a deep appreciation for any holiday sweet that requires very little work yet produces AWESOME results, especially if I know I have the ingredients on hand and if my preschooler can make them with me.
Today I am sharing a very simple, elegant, and quick 2-ingredient no-bake recipe for Holiday Bark. Using a cup each of chocolate chips and trail mix, this bark recipe highlights one of my favorite food combinations salty, sweet, and chocolate. Best of all, kids from 18 months and older can do most of the work with the exception of cutting the bark into pieces. Enjoy!
Trail mix + Chocolate Chips = An Easy Holiday No-Bake Holiday Treat!
Melt the chocolate according to the (brand) packaging using the stovetop or microwave method. I prefer using the microwave because it only takes about 90 seconds to melt the chocolate. Be sure to follow the package instructions, as melting methods vary by brands. Spoon and the melted chocolate over the parchment paper in a 1/4-inch layer square.
Evenly sprinkle the trail mix over the chocolate edge to edge so every piece is embedded. Using the back of a spoon, gently push the trail mix down to make sure the trail mix adheres to the chocolate.
Place the baking sheet in the freezer for 20 minutes until firm. Cut the bark into 16 even pieces. Allow the bark to come to room temperature before serving or packaging.
