If you're a mom and reading this, I would like to wish you a Happy Mother's Day! Now, do me favor and stop reading this. Do not even scroll down further. Instead, forward this link to anyone in your household old enough to bake and tell them this is what you want for Mother's Day:
Dear Family Member,
My name is Alice Currah, and I am a mom of two teenage daughters and one sweet eight-year-old son. I am going to shed some light on what to get the special mom in your life for Mother's Day so she truly feels appreciated and special. I should tell you upfront that I believe every day of the year should be Mother's Day.
But since it's not, please do everything you can to honor her. I guarantee you she will feel the love. The good news is that it does not take much to make moms feel special. We just want a little bit of recognition for the sacrifices we make for you. Who else is willing to drive you around like your personal chauffeur? We also often do your laundry even when we know most of your clothes are clean leaving them on the floor does not make them dirty. Not to mention we always make sure you have something to eat. We know your favorite cereals and what your favorite dish for dinner is. We are pretty much your personal concierge service. Wouldn't you agree? That's not even including our other jobs of managing the household and/or working in the marketplace. We are mostly compensated not in monetary currency but because we love you; the journey of motherhood is our earned treasured stored deep in our hearts.
So for Mother's Day, please let the special mom in your life sleep in uninterrupted. And when she wakes up, tell her you love her, appreciate her, and that what she does for you does not go unnoticed. Finally, if you bake please make her these homemade cinnamon rolls. Let her enjoy every bite in peace. Clean up all the dishes and let her indulge in the day doing nothing but whatever it is she wants to do.
From A Mom Who Knows,
Alice
