Julie Powell Shares How Julia Child Inspired Her

Julie Powell famously cooked every recipe in Julia Child's "Mastering the Art of French Cooking," and her blog that documented her journey later became a book that served as the plot line of the successful "Julie and Julia" movie. Julie shares why she decided to attempt her challenge and what impact it had on her life.

After a misspent youth involving loads of dead-end jobs and several questionable decisions, Julie Powell, author of Julie & Julia--made into a major motion picture by Nora Ephron starring Meryl Streep and Amy Adams--has found her calling as a writer-cum-butcher. She lives in Long Island City, Queens, when she isnt in Kingston, NY, cutting up animals.
