Usually I'm totally satisfied with some fresh berries or a piece of fruit for dessert. But when we have company over or are celebrating a special occasion, I crave something prettier and more decadent, like this fruit crumble. Your mother or grandmother may have had a recipe a lot like this one, which is from the kitchen of my colleague Linda Wolpert's grandmother. This crumble (or fruit crunch, as they like to call it) is ideal with the fresh summer fruits that you can find at your local farmers markets or fruit stands this time of year. You can also use plums, blackberries, or whatever fruit looks best at your market.
