Every 4th of July, people across America gather for patriotic parades, big BBQ and potluck gatherings, and fireworks displays. Great food is always at the center of celebrating America's Independence Day with neighbors, friends, and family. It is the one holiday during the summer where wearing red, white, and blue is standard along with everything than can be decorated from centerpieces to desserts.
Today's recipe is one of my most favorite treats to bring to a 4th of July gathering. Red, white, and blue Jello is always a delightful and welcomed crowd favorite. It is a fun food people always enjoy! Most people are familiar with regular Jello squares of a singular color or flavor. Layered Jello takes much more time to make, but is well worth the labor. By pouring one layer of cooled gelatin over a layer that is completely set, you can easily start layering each color until you achieve the desired effect. When people see these Jello squares they are both excited and intrigued. The 4th of July is the perfect holiday to share this treat with your gathering. They'll vanish quickly because they really stand out even on a crowded dessert table. Happy 4th!
