Tropical Smoothie

Don't get me wrong; I love my husband but when it comes to Mother's Day, sometimes he needs a little help. So much so, that I actually wrote my introduction essay for the Mother's Day chapter of my soon-to-be-released cookbook as a letter to him -- halfway joking, of course. You see, even though we've been married awhile now, he annually forgets that Mother's Day is a day to be celebrated ALL DAY LONG -- not just for breakfast. And definitely not just the eating portion of breakfast. Seriously, how meaningful is it for us moms to be brought breakfast in bed by our loved ones only to head to the kitchen to see a sink full of dishes waiting for us to clean--the same dishes used to make us breakfast no less! Hmmm...no, thank you. Bad idea.
Mother's Day is to be celebrated all day long. What this means is no cooking, cleaning, or shuttling. Ahh yes, this is what I want for Mother's Day. And please, no more World's Greatest Mom mugs, Rob. A person can only have so many mugs to match her World's Greatest Mom pajamas--both sets. Yes, you read that correctly. I own two sets of these pajamas. Got to love Rob, he does this because he thinks it's funny. And it is, kind of. Not. Instead, I think we moms should band together and form a movement to go somewhere tropical every Mother's Day to be pampered. Wouldn't that be awesome? I am going to keep on dreaming that dream.
Today I am sharing a Mother's Day-inspired fruit smoothie with you. Easy to make and only dirties up the blender (in case you have to wash it yourself). I hope this smoothie magically transports you to a remote tropical island, even if only in your mind momentarily. From one mother to another, Happy Mother's Day!
** Look in your grocery store's frozen foods section for a tropical blend of frozen fruit.
