Attention Teachers: Help Us Make Better Classroom Resources for You

June 02, 2012 by 826chi in Uncategorized

Attention educators! One of our most important projects here at Independent Lens HQ is Community Classroom, an innovative and free resource for teachers, offering short-form film modules adapted from our award-winning documentaries along with standards-based lesson plans for high schools and community colleges, NGOs, and youth organizations. This is one of the ways we turn the many compelling documentaries we put on television into literal “teachable moments” in communities around the country.

Our most recent collection is Women and Girls Lead, Vol. 2: African American Women Lead, featuring films clips from Independent Lens films such as Daisy Bates: First Lady of Little Rock, and The Interrupters (which appeared on FRONTLINE).

Do you work with young people? Have you used our FREE Community Classroom resources? We want to hear from you. Tell us what you think about the modules and lesson plans we have produced over the last several years, and help us make them more relevant and effective for you. Take 15 minutes to complete our short survey and you will be entered for a chance to win a Kodak PLAY flipcam.
