It’s contest time again!
First, tune in tonight (March 29, 2011 at 10 PM – check local listings) for the broadcast premiere of Pushing the Elephant. It is the story of Rose Mapendo, who has managed to overcome astounding odds to survive genocide in the Congo, resettle as a refugee in the United States, reunite her fractured family, and work toward peace and reconciliation in her war-torn country. In 2009, she was named Humanitarian of the Year by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
The Contest
Your mission, should you choose to accept it … Write one sentence about the one woman in the world who has inspired you the most. It might be a celebrity, an activist, an historical figure, a political leader, a businesswoman, an athlete, a scientist, an artist, a family member, or a friend.
We will collect all entries left in the comments of this blog post and on our Facebook page, and narrow them down to our favorite 10. Then we will take a poll of our fans to determine the winner!
(Prizes detailed after the jump!)
