Earlier this season we aired the documentary Lives Worth Living about one of the most significant and least recognized civil rights movements in American history: the struggle for access and equality for the disabled. Tomorrow that film will be screened at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, followed by a live webcast panel discussion.
The documentary will screen (with captions and audio descriptions) at 7 PM PT, followed at 8 PM PT by a in-depth panel discussion (streamed live with captions on www.emmys.com and www.emmys.tv) on disability access within the entertainment industry with the creative team behind the film.
The panel will include moderator Robert David Hall (co-star of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and National Chair SAG-AFTRA-AEA PWD Committee), and panelists Eric Neudel (director, Lives Worth Living), Alison Gilkey (producer, Lives Worth Living), Lois Vossen (Independent Lens senior series producer), James LeBrecht (sound designer and mixer, Lives Worth Living), and Lawrence Carter-Long (founder and curator of disTHIS! Film Series).
If you’re in LA, head on over to the Academy. Otherwise, go to emmy.com or emmy.tv tomorrow at 8 PM PT and watch what promises to be a spirited discussion.
