Five Fun Interactive Features

With Independent Lens off the air for summer (and there are still plenty of ways to watch our films and via Amazon, iTunes, Netflix, DVD and more), this is a perfect time to check out some of the fun interactive features connected to our expansive catalog.

Here are some of our favorites to get you started:

To accompany Doug Pray’s film Art & Copy, which reveals the work and wisdom of some of the most influential advertising creatives of our time, we created this DIY Ad Slogan Generator so you can try to become a Mad Man/Woman in the comfort of your own home.

Off the Charts is Jamie Meltzer’s truly fun music documentary about the fascinating world of the song-poem. In tandem with the film, we created this handy little tool to create your own song-poem.

Wonder Women! The Untold Story of American Superheroines is a fun and warmly witty look at how popular representations of powerful women often reflect society’s anxieties about women’s liberation.

King Corn is an eye-opening documentary about where America’s corn comes from, and alongside that film we created a “corn maze” where you can explore the world of food and see how many kernels of knowledge you have about corn.

The Zaballeen people survive by collecting garbage from the streets of Cairo, and recycling 80% of it. The film Garbage Dreams — which the NY Times said “expertly weav[es] personal fears, family tensions, and political action.”
