For the third year running, the PBS Online Film Festival is happening as we speak. Two excellent short films are representing Independent Lens as part of the line-up: Tryouts, by Susana Casares [official site], and Border Bedazzlers, by Grace Jackson [official Facebook page].

With more than 1 million video streams in its first two years, this year’s PBS Online Film Fest promises to be bigger than ever. This year there are 14 partners presenting 25 films, including our friends at POV, KQED, VisionMaker Media, and many more. The fest runs until the end of July.

“PBS is the home for independent film, both online and on-air, and we’re proud that the Online Film Festival has become an annual celebration of unique films representing a diverse array of voices and viewpoints,” said Ira Rubenstein, Senior Vice President and General Manager of PBS Digital.

And last but not least, there will be a live awards show on Tuesday, August 5, online via OVEE. Hope you’ll give the films a watch during these lazy days of summer.
