We’re celebrating the new spring season by launching a new contest for our Independent Lens fans on Facebook! We’re calling it Watch to Win, and we want you to be ready for it before next Tuesday night Jan. 18, when we’re rebroadcasting the Peabody Award-winning film Between the Folds (check your local listings for the schedule in your area).
Here’s how it works: You watch the broadcast on Tuesday night. Then the following morning (before 12 noon Pacific) we will post a question on Facebook that you will probably only be able to answer if you watched the film. If you are one of the first 10 people to answer correctly in the comments section on Facebook, you’ll win some cool prizes. Among this season’s prizes will be iTunes cards, Independent Lens T-shirts, limited-edition posters, DVDs, and more cool stuff.
UPDATE: Between the Folds Director Vanessa Gould is providing a special crop of goodies for you fans! Details after the jump.
Gould is graciously prividing us with a few autographed DVDs of the film, and some Between the Folds T-shirts. Michael LaFosse and Richard Alexander (the papermakers in the film) are providing one lucky winner with a autographed copy of their new book, Trash Origami, and another with an autographed copy of their Origami Butterflies and Moths DVD kit (Both are suitable for beginners and contain simple, fun projects with common materials). That’s in addition to the IL shwag we already planned to give away.
So tune in, log on, “like” us on Facebook, and score the goods!
