Claire Danes starred on Showtime’s critically acclaimed series “Homeland” for eight seasons and served as an executive producer. For her role as ‘Carrie Mathison,’ she won back-to-back Emmy Awards for “Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series” in 2012 and 2013 as well as back-to-back Golden Globe Awards for “Best Actress in a Television Series – Drama” in 2011 and 2012. She was nominated for the 2014, 2015 and 2016 Emmy Award for “Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series;” the 2014 Golden Globe for “Best Actress in a Television Series – Drama;” and four SAG Awards for “Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series” in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. Additionally, she was nominated for the 2012 and 2013 Critic’s Choice Award for “Best Actress -Television Drama Series” and was nominated for the 2015 and 2016 Peoples’ Choice Award for “Favorite Premium Series Actress.” “Homeland” won the 2012 Emmy, the 2012 and 2013 Golden Globe Award and the 2012 Critic’s Choice Award for “Outstanding Drama Series” and was nominated for an additional 3 Emmy Awards and 2 Critic’s Choice Awards in the same category. During the series’ run, they filmed all over the world including Tel Aviv, Berlin, Cape Town, Budapest, New York City, Charlotte, and Los Angeles.

Danes currently stars in the Apple TV+ drama series, “The Essex Serpent” opposite Tom Hiddleston. The series follows a newly widowed Cora (Danes) who, having been released from an abusive marriage, relocates from Victorian London to the small village of Aldwinter in Essex, intrigued by a local superstition that a mythical creature known as the Essex Serpent has returned to the area.

Next, Danes can be seen in FX’s limited series, “Fleishman Is in Trouble” opposite, Jesse Eisenberg, Lizzy Caplan and Adam Brody. It centers on recently-separated forty-something Toby Fleishman (Eisenberg), who dives into the brave new world of app-based dating. But just as he starts to find success, his ex-wife, Rachel (Danes), disappears.

Previously, Danes received critical acclaim for her performance in the HBO “Temple Grandin” biopic. Based on the extraordinary life of Temple Grandin, the film chronicles how she turned her unique talent into a behavioral tool that revolutionized the cattle industry and laid the groundwork for her successful career as an author, lecturer, and pioneering advocate for autism and autism spectrum disorder education. Danes won the 2010 Emmy Award for "Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie" and the film won for "Outstanding Made for Television Movie." She also won the 2011 Golden Globe Award for "Best Performance by an Actress in a Mini-Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television" and the 2011 Screen Actors Guild Award for "Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries."

She is well known for playing ‘Angela Chase’ in Ed Zwick and Marshall Hershkovitz's acclaimed series, "My So-Called Life" for which she won the 1995 Golden Globe for “Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama” and was nominated for the 1995 Emmy Award in the same category. Other notable roles include guest starring in Aziz Ansari’s “Master of None” and Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein’s “Portlandia.”

On the big screen, Danes most recently starred in Silas Howard’s “A Kid Like Jake” opposite Jim Parsons. The film, which premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival, was written by Daniel Pearle and was based on his 2013 play which portrays a timely, honest, emotionally rich look at 21^st century parenting. The film was nominated for a 2019 GLAAD Media Award for “Outstanding Film – Limited Release.” Additionally, Danes was in Sony Pictures Classic’s acclaimed comedy “Brigsby Bear” alongside Kyle Mooney which was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival and was recognized as one of the Top Ten Independent Films of the year by the National Board of Review.

In 2007, Danes made her Broadway debut starring in George Bernard Shaw's "Pygmalion" opposite Jefferson Mays. Her performance as 'Eliza Doolittle' was well reviewed by critics. In 2016, Danes starred in Thomas Kail’s off-Broadway play, “Dry Powder”, opposite Hank Azaria and John Krasinski.
