About the Show

Aidan Turner (The Hobbit) stars as Ross Poldark, a dashing redcoat who returns to Cornwall after battle to discover that his father is dead, his lands are ruined, and his true love is engaged to another. Can Poldark change his destiny, restore his lost fortune, and reclaim his sweetheart? This 18th century saga is unashamedly swashbuckling. “The series delivers immediately on the panoramic scenery and romance that this genre demands: plunging cliffs, green fields, galloping horses and burning glances aplenty,” says The New York Times.

The ensemble cast also includes Eleanor Tomlinson (The Outlaws) as fiery Demelza Poldark, Jack Farthing (Spencer) as the ever-ambitious George Warleggan, Luke Norris (The Weekend Away) as doctor Dwight Enys, Heida Reid (Stella Blómkvist) as Ross’s first love Elizabeth, Beatie Edney (Van der Valk, Andor) as loyal servant Prudie, and Gabriella Wilde (The Three Musketeers) as Lady Caroline, among many others.

Based on Winston Graham’s sweeping series of historical fiction books, full episodes of Poldark’s five seasons can be seen with PBS Passport. Watch online and on the free PBS App.
