The Producer's Story
When Australian Dr. Catherine Hamlin (center) and her late husband Reginald moved to Ethiopia in 1959, they were told that the country's fistula patients "will break your hearts." Over 30,000 fistula surgeries later, she and her staff continue to repair more than 1,500 of these grievous injuries each year.
