Using the exact designs and Spartan materials the Wright brothers used a century ago, retired American Airlines pilot Ken Hyde and his team of aviation enthusiasts have spent nearly a decade crafting working replicas of eleven of the Wrights' original aircraft and two of their engines. Their painstaking projects include the famous 1903 Wright Flyer, which made the first controlled, sustained, and powered flight on December 17, 1903, at Kitty Hawk, and the 1911 Wright Model B, which crowned the Wright brothers' accomplishments as the first-ever passenger airplane.
