GUEST: My grandfather was Gordon Reid. He started the Brimfield Antique Show. And it sat on a table for as long as I can remember in the house. And my mother got it, then I got it, and...
APPRAISER: You're here now.
GUEST: I'm just very curious as to what it is, and...
APPRAISER: Terrific. Brimfield's a blast, and, and it's like an ANTIQUES woodsh, Woodstock.
GUEST: Yes.
APPRAISER: It was, you know, we, we were covered in mud, we were trudging along-- really had a blast. It's, it's a very rare piece in that it is dated, the 12th year of the Emperor Tongzhi.
GUEST: Right.
APPRAISHER: Tongzhi, 1872 A.D.
GUEST: Okay.
APPRAISER: I think it's terrific and, for a bronze of this rare configuration, charming. Even the wood base and the lid, I think, are perfect to the period. I would put an auction estimate of, of perhaps $8,000 to $12,000 on this bronze censer.
GUEST: Ooh. Okay. (laughs) All right. (laughs)
APPRAISER: Thank you so much for bringing it in.
GUEST: Thank you, that's nice.
APPRAISER: Oh, it's my pleasure.
