GUEST: My great-great-grandfather made this in Denmark to celebrate the birth of my great-grandmother.
APPRAISER: We take out the drawer and see that it's wonderfully all dovetail constructed. But the most fascinating part of all is the signature, and it says...
GUEST: "Designed and made by Hans Ranson Nielsen, 1876."
APPRAISER: In Copenhagen, right?
GUEST: Copenhagen, Denmark.
APPRAISER: So we know when it was made, by whom it was made, and that means a lot to people in the collecting world. So other than the fact that it's very beautiful, it's very compact and small. People like small furniture because it would fit most anywhere. For auction purposes, we'd estimate it at $1,500 to $2,500.
GUEST: That's good.
APPRAISER: I was very struck with its beauty and the fact that we know for sure it was made in Denmark.
GUEST: Well, that's awesome. Thank you.
