GUEST: I purchased it at an antiques store maybe three years ago. I just know that it's made out of hair, and it's for the Lewis and Clark Exposition.
APPRAISER: And there's so little material that comes from the Portland Centennial Exposition, which was named Lewis and Clark. It was in 1905. There are many categories of collectibles, and mourning jewelry is one of them. Where you have a deceased that you really love and you make some jewelry or wreaths out of their hair. What's interesting about this piece is, clearly, this is long hair, it's very supple, and it's blonde. I could see a really young girl, she gave up a lot of long hair to make this for the exhibition. I would put a value on this of about $1,500 to $2,000.
GUEST: Well, that's great. Thank you so much.
