APPRAISER: So you brought something today from your favorite golfer.
GUEST: I sure did-- Jack, I love him.
APPRAISER: What'd you bring for us?
GUEST: Okay, I brought a five-pound note from Scotland that I got Jack to sign at an opening of one of his golf courses.
APPRAISER: We see an image here of you standing in line.
GUEST: Well, actually, I was the first one to get an autograph, so I know that's the note he's signing.
APPRAISER: So it's a commemorative note made to celebrate his farewell in 2005, for the last time he played the British Open.
GUEST: Oh, really?
APPRAISER: And that's what it was issued for.
GUEST: Oh, I didn't know that.
APPRAISER: You're the lucky recipient of an autograph on top of that.
GUEST: Yes.
APPRAISER: So the currency is made more valuable by your favorite golfer's autograph on it.
GUEST: He was really nice. He was supposed to show us how to play his new course, but it got... it was raining, so we went in and had a talk. And I was able to ask him the question of how he managed to get on the Scottish pound, being an American. And he said, "Because they asked me."
APPRAISER: So what do you think it's worth?
GUEST: At least five pounds.
APPRAISER: There you go, you're right about that. At auction, we value this at about $300 to $500.
GUEST: Really?
APPRAISER: Absolutely.
GUEST: That's like a hole in one, isn't it?
(laughs)
