GUEST: It's a metal dog that I bought at a garage sale almost ten years ago.
APPRAISER: And do you remember how much you paid for it?
GUEST: I do, I paid $25 for it.
APPRAISER: $25, okay. I'm going to turn this around real quick, and it is signed right here, "Matia," and it's numbered "4 of 24." And Matia is Walter Matia, who's an American sculptor who was born in 1953. It's a really nice figure of a dog. It is made of bronze. We found a number of auction records by Walter Matia. He did some really big examples, but he always did animals. He did geese and wild turkeys. I found another example of a dog. Any idea of the value in today's market?
GUEST: I don't know. It looked like my old dog, so it was valuable in that sense.
APPRAISER: Okay, if you were to sell this at auction, you would get around about $2,000.
GUEST: You're kidding.
APPRAISER: No.
GUEST: Wow! That's amazing.
