APPRAISER: We have this very French style table, beautifully figured mahogany. These ormolu mounts, which would have been imported from Paris.
GUEST: Oh.
APPRAISER: Of course, the marble top here is this Pennsylvania gray and white marble. It's the original marble top, which is really exceptional. And then this frieze is supported by these tapered columns with a mirror behind, and supported on these carved animal-claw feet.
GUEST: Uh-huh.
APPRAISER: And I understand you're not very fond of this style, right?
GUEST: I am not personally. He loves it.
APPRAISER: But you love it, okay. And have you ever had it appraised, ever?
GUEST: No.
APPRAISER: Well, actually, if this classical table were to come up at auction, I would estimate it between $7,000 and $10,000. A fairly good example, nice, representative example of the classical style.
GUEST: Great.
APPRAISER: And I would expect it would probably bring probably a little over the high estimate, because of the original condition.
GUEST: Great.
APPRAISER: Are you more fond of it now?
GUEST: I'm more fond of it.
GUEST : No.
GUEST: Getting fonder.
GUEST: When's the auction? (laughs)
