WOMAN: This is a picture of my great-great-great-grandfather, who served with the Fighting 69th Regiment out of New York. And that's his pin.
APPRAISER: We're very lucky to have the pin inscribed. They made a lot of these that aren't. It's a particularly nice example of a corps badge. This represents the Second Corps that the 69th New York was in. They were part of the Irish Brigade. This is a pretty high-end pin. An average Civil War badge is $400 or $500. If you have one that's engraved with an individual's name, they can easily get around $1,000. With the photograph, with the attribution to the individual in the 69th New York, which is one of the best Union regiments of the Civil War, this is easily a $2,000 set.
GUEST: You're kidding.
APPRAISER: That's the case.
GUEST: Wow, that's great. Very good.
