GUEST: It's a, uh, small mantel clock which I purchased about ten years ago. I want to say it was around $1,000.
APPRAISER: This is what we would call a bracket clock, but it's a miniature bracket clock. It's veneered with this beautiful walnut. The clockmaker's name is on the dial, E. White, Edward White, and his address, uh, 20 Cockspur Street in London. And he was at that location for almost 30 years, uh, from 1861 until 1890. It's a very large, very high-quality movement that, uh, that has his name on that, as well.
GUEST: Mm-hmm.
APPRAISER: So what is it worth today? Um, it is such an adorable clock.
APPRAISER & GUEST: (both chuckling)
APPRAISER: It's a, it's a miniature bracket clock. In terms of value, I would think that, in a retail store, you'd expect to pay $3,000 for this clock today.
GUEST: Excellent. Excellent. Thank you very much.
