GUEST: The lamp belonged to my grandparents, and it was always in a very prominent place in their living room. Ever since I was a little girl, this lamp has been there. I know that it was originally an oil lamp, but it's been electrified since I've known it.
APPRAISER: I really like this piece. This style of decoration is French, and I do believe that the vase here is French. It's been referred to as Limoges style from that area in France, right, which they weren't really only doing this, but it became known here as Limoges style. I think this is 1870s or 1880s.
GUEST: Oh, my gosh.
APPRAISER: Also referred to as barbotine. And what I particularly like about this is the metal mount, which may be American. So this may have come to this country as a vase and then was made into a lamp, an oil font and lamp. But this is so beautiful. It has such a gorgeous Aesthetic movement print to it, and it has very nice heft. It's got good weight to it. At auction, probably in the $500 to $700 range.
GUEST: Okay, that's fabulous.
