GUEST: My mother had it since I was about eight years old. She received it from an Austrian friend of hers, and it's been in the family ever since.
APPRAISER: Well, it's very interesting. We see a lot of slag glass lamps on the show. This lamp is a "han-dell" lamp, or "han-dle." Some people pronounce it either way. And this is an acorn pattern, and leaf that overlaid on a trellis. On the bottom of this base, it does say Handel, and these are very simple bases. And these types of lamps always had the simple base with these little acorn pulls. This particular lamp was about 1915. It is a rare pattern, it's a pattern hard to find. And this lamp would sell in a retail price range of about $4,000 to $5,000.
GUEST: Very good. It's in the family. It'll never go anywhere if I can help it.
