APPRAISER: This material here is classic ocean liner memorabilia from the Cunard line, the famous ocean liners, and sells within a wide range of prices, some of it fairly modest. A few pieces are expensive. But what you have in your collection that's amazing is a large amount of material having to do with the Normandie, the French ship that sunk in New York Harbor in 1942.
GUEST: Right.
APPRAISER: And this is without a doubt one of the most desirable Normandie pieces of all-- the actual deck plans of the Normandie. And these were given to passengers so they could find their way around the ship. Very few of these have survived. They were used and used, and they fell apart. This piece here sells on the market today for close to $1,200. You also have the launch booklet for the Normandie, which was an unbelievably posh presentation of all the interiors, of all the famous rooms, the peak of Art Deco. And it was all represented in here. And it only lasted seven years. These booklets and other ephemera that you have are the only records left of what those interiors looked like. And they are just absolutely treasured by people. This piece here sells for about $1,500. So, you know, there's ocean liner memorabilia, and there's ocean liner memorabilia. And this is the ultimate.
