GUEST: I found this clock at a thrift store about two years ago. I'd never heard of Stage Deli of New York. I paid $78 for it.
APPRAISER: Well, I'm very familiar with the Stage Deli.
GUEST: Are you? Oh, yeah?
APPRAISER: (laughs) I went there many times before they closed. The combination of pastrami and corned beef...
GUEST: Mm-hmm?
APPRAISER: ...was, was my favorite. It was a New York institution from 1937, it closed in 2012. So the big question is, was this actually their clock? Is this just a decorative clock for people to buy and put in their rumpus rooms? It has good age. I would date it probably 1970s.
GUEST: Okay.
APPRAISER: I spent quite a bit of time looking at interior photos of the Stage Deli.
GUEST: Mm-hmm, yes.
APPRAISER: And I did not find this clock. So if you can come back to me with a photo of this clock...
GUEST: Mm-hmm.
APPRAISER: ...inside the Stage Deli...
GUEST: Yes.
APPRAISER: I will change my appraisal from $200 to $2,000.
GUEST: Okay. (both laugh) All right, well that's good news.
