GUEST: It was my grandfather's. And he got it when he was born. A neighbor across the street where he lived made it for him when he was born, in about 1918.
APPRAISER: Well, you know, a lot of times, the stories that come down through family history and everything, sometimes there are little problems.
GUEST: Okay.
APPRAISER: Sometimes they're good problems and sometimes they're bad problems. This is a good problem.
GUEST (laughs): Okay.
APPRAISER: This is a manufactured toy.
GUEST: Oh.
APPRAISER: And it is made by a company called Turner. It's a Turner Lincoln.
GUEST: Okay.
APPRAISER: It dates from the 1920s. Even though it has this problem of, somebody put some paint on here.
GUEST: Right.
APPRAISER: And that's not original to the piece. And even though it's missing a trunk...
GUEST: Oh.
APPRAISER: It does have its headlights, steering wheel, bumper.
GUEST: Mm-hmm.
APPRAISER: At auction, in this condition, even with this paint on here...
GUEST: Right.
APPRAISER: We would estimate this at $3,000 to $4,000.
GUEST: Hmm.
APPRAISER: A little better than handmade.
GUEST: Yeah, definitely. (both laughing)
