Biography
Kathleen (Kathy) M. Bailey, AAA (Appraisers Association of America), Owner/Certified Appraiser for Baileys Antique Appraisal And Estate Sale Service, Seattle (established 1980).
Specialties include: antiques (1800-1930) and high-quality residential contents of value. Major specialty: selling Entire Estates in Northwest. Appraisals for you, attorneys, executors/personal representatives, estate trusts, FMV for IRS for entire estates and others in mostly Washington State.
Kathy has appeared on ANTIQUES ROADSHOW since 1996. Her Northwest-area business includes valuations for furniture, silver, porcelain, enamels and entire antique collections. Over 40 years Kathleen focused on fine antiques- 1800’s -1930. Items valued and/or sold would number a million items. She operated her antique store from 1980-2012. She currently conducts high-quality Northwest entire estate sales. Kathleen displays and sells fine antiques and art at major antique shows in the Northwest and California from 1980 to present.
In start-up of International Society of Appraisers, (ISA) Kathleen served on Board of Councilors and Chairperson of Ethics Committee. She was in first group of eleven Certified Appraisers in ISA in 1980’s (called Pioneer Appraisers). The time came in September 2020, after life-long career years as an ISA Certified Appraiser (CAPP) member, and by choice Kathleen resigned from this remarkable appraisal society.
During the Covid years, Kathy decided to resign from both Appraisal Societies due to her desire to limit travel around the U.S. and to keep her business dealings closer to the Northwest. However, she continues with her retail Antiques Business.
Kathy still enjoys 25+ years as a Certified Appraiser in Appraisers Association of America, NY, and will remain a member of AAA (one of the first appraisal associations)for the duration of her working career.
Besides an extensive background in antiques, appraising, and some of the finest
Estate Sales in the Northwest, she was part owner of Sound Steel Services, Inc., from 1969-2000. Sound Steel Services, Inc., having completed aircraft suspension in Museum of Flight’s Great Gallery/Boeing Field as well as constructing hundreds of installations in the Seattle area and the West Coast.
