Main Ingredients
- 2 cups chickpeas, cooked
- ½ cup tahini
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- Pita bread, cut in small squares or unsalted pita chips
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cumin
For Garnish
- 2 tablespoons of pine nuts
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley
- 2 tablespoons of chopped tomatoes (optional)
- 2 tablespoons of pomegranates (optional)
- ½ teaspoon of ground cumin
Instructions

To Make the Sauce: Mix the chickpeas, yogurt, tahini, crushed garlic, lemon juice, cumin, and salt. Blend all the ingredients together until you get a smooth dip. If it gets thick, add some chickpea water/broth.

To Assemble the Fatteh: Bake your pita bread pieces in the oven until golden and crispy.

Toast 2 tablespoons pine nuts with warm olive oil or melted aged butter in a pan until golden. Set aside.

Spread pita bread in a deep bowl. Add chickpeas and some chickpea water to soften the bread.

Spread a layer of the sauce on top.

Garnish with chopped parsley, chopped tomato, toasted pine nuts, pomegranates, and cumin.
