As a huge fan of desserts, I don't think I have ever met one that I didn't like. I especially love seasonal fruit desserts with a beautiful presentation or cuteness factor. There are several ways to up the cuteness factor score for a dish, and one sure fire way is to find a way to serve them in small cups or jars. They will always be noticed when served this way. Clear plastic or glass jars work perfectly for layering elements of a dessert where presentation is an important goal. And if you are looking transport them easily, using something with a lid, like mason jars, makes it easy and fun.
With the Fourth of July approaching quickly, I have a great no-bake dessert that works particularly well in single serving cups or mason jars. It uses seasonal strawberries, which are always a summer favorite.
Today I'm sharing with you my Mini Strawberry Trifle recipe. By using store-bought pound cake, this dessert does not require you to turn on your oven on a hot day. It does, however, save time on preparation and makes this dessert a breeze to prepare. With cubes of pound cake layered between sweetened berries and a sweetened sour cream-cream cheese filling, this dessert is practically stress-free and will be a hit at your Fourth of July get together. Happy Independence Day!
