Do you have a heart-shaped cookie cutter you bought years ago for Valentine's Day that is now collecting dust? Re-imagining cookie cutters beyond their original purpose design comes easily with the help of a new cookbook by Patti Paige named "YOU CAN'T JUDGE A COOKIE BY ITS CUTTER." Using only 25 different shaped cookie cutters, this creative and easy-to-follow book transforms each cookie cutter into at least four different designed cookies. For example, a heart-shaped cookie cutter can be used not only to make heart-themed cookies but, with the right decorating, can also be used for pumpkin, strawberry, and fish cookies.
Each cutter in the book is photographed along with the several ways to ice them and includes wonderful detailed instructions and photos to guide cookie decorators from start to finish. Ms. Paige's creative ability to think outside the box makes this cookie decorating book a great one to have. Especially during the holidays when cookie decorating is about more than just making cookies, it is about creating memories and spending time with friends and loved ones.
This book will be a great resource for friends and family while sitting around a table and creating crafty cookies. Today we are happy to share the sugar cookie recipe from the book to help get you inspired. Kids and grownups alike will love spending time getting in touch with their artistic side to create a beautiful cookie beyond its original shape. After all, you can't judge a cookie by its cutter.

Note from the author: This dough is not overly sweet so it pairs well with the royal icing. That said, unfrosted, these cookies taste amazing. If you are new to cookie decorating, this is the perfect dough to get you started. Not only is it easy to work with, but it is sturdy enough to stay intact when using intricately shaped cookie cutters.
