Falling Objects

A woman holds two cannonballs of different masses. One is 10 pounds; the other is 1 pound. She is about to drop both objects at the same time.

Before she releases the balls, decide what you think will happen.

  1. the heavier object will fall faster than the lighter one

  2. the lighter object will fall faster than the heavier one

  3. both objects will fall at about the same rate
