Books
Your Pregnancy Week by Week (Fourth Edition) by Glade B. Curtis, M.D., OB/GYN and Judith Schuler, M.S. Cambridge: Fisher Books, 2000.
From preparing for a pregnancy through labor and delivery, this book is a detailed look at what a woman can expect during pregnancy. This revised Fourth Edition volume includes a range of new features, such as an extensive resources section, a glossary, and a birth calendar.

What to Expect When You're Expecting (Revised Edition) by Arlene Eisenberg, Sandee E. Hathaway, and Heidi E. Murkoff. New York: Workman, 1996.
This classic guide to pregnancy, newly revised, contains all the relevant information an expecting mother might seek and takes a less physician-centered approach to understanding pregnancy. The authors recommend their readers use this book in conjunction with other resources.

The Pregnancy Book: Month-by-Month, Everything You Need to Know from America's Baby Experts by William Sears, Martha Sears, and Linda H. Holt. New York: Little, Brown, 1997.
Filled with pictures, this all-in-one guide is a useful resource for couples experiencing pregnancy for the first time and addresses all the questions that both mothers- and fathers-to-be might have. The Pregnancy Book pays special attention to a range of practical concerns for pregnant mothers, such as traveling, exercising, and eating while pregnant.

The Birth Book: Everything You Need to Know to Have a Safe and Satisfying Birth by William Sears, Martha Sears, and Linda H. Holt. New York: Little, Brown, 1994.
The predecessor and companion to The Pregnancy Book by the same authors, this book is divided into three parts: "Preparing for Birth," "Easing Pain in Labor," and "Experiencing Birth." You'll find explanations and details related to a range of different birth options and a lively sense of humor throughout.
