Yield: 4 servings

    Ingredients

  • 16 fl ounces unfiltered apple cider
  • 4 fluid ounces bourbon
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 1/2 naval orange
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 10 allspice berries
  • 1 star anise
  • 4 cardamom pods
  • 1 bay leaf

    Directions

  1. To a medium saucepan, add all of the ingredients. Stir and place it over medium-high heat until it reaches a gentle boil.
  2. Bring the heat down to low and cook until fragrant and delicious, about 5 minutes. Turn the heat off and cover the pot. I like to keep it like this for guests. Every now and then you may need to turn the heat back on to warm it. And of course, this is a good recipe to double.
