- 1 package of guava paste
- Water for binding

Instructions
-
NOTE: Pepperidge Farm® puff pastry works well in this recipe. Puff pastry can be thawed in fridge overnight (or up to 24 hours). You can also leave it out on the counter for 40 minutes in order to get it cold and thawed before making your guava pastries.
-
Preheat oven to 375 degrees (350 if your oven runs hot or has an electric coil).
-
Start by cutting your guava pieces (sliced 1⁄2-inch thick), then set aside.
-
Cut your puff pastry into 6 pieces each (or desired size).
-
Set aside a piece of parchment paper to work on.
-
Lay out your puff pastry on the parchment. Line the inside edges with water for binding.
-
Place a piece of guava paste on half of your pastry slices. Then, cover with the remaining pastry pieces.
-
Press sides together with your fingers, carefully making indentations.
-
Make slits on top for steam to release while baking.
-
Puff pastries go in the oven on the center rack for 30 minutes or until golden brown, rotating the pan halfway through the process.
-
Remove from the oven and set on a wire rack.
-
Let cool for about 5 minutes, then sprinkle with LOTS of powdered sugar.
