    Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. lean ground beef
  • 4 whole eggs
  • 1/2 tablespoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon granulated garlic
  • 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 4 ouncecan mushroom soup
  • butter or margarine for sauteing
  • 2 medium Spanish onions
  • 2 tablespoons beef base
  • 4 ounces flour
  • 1 quart water

    Directions

  1. Combine in medium size mixing bowl the beef, eggs, pepper, salt, garlic, breadcrumbs, and mushroom soup. Mix ingredients well.
  2. Form 6-8 thick patties, set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, melt margarine (4 ounces). Making sure your skillet is hot, place patties in pan, brown on each side for about 4 minutes.
  4. Remove patties from pan and set in a baking dish or pan.
  5. For the gravy: In reserve drippings from the steak's pan, add 4 ounces flour, heat and stir. Add 1 quart water with 2 tablespoons beef base, stir vigorously until gravy is hot and begins to bubble. Pour gravy over salisbury and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Serve with grilled onions.
