Van der Valk Season 2 in Production in Amsterdam


MASTERPIECE PBS alongside leading independent distributor All3Media International – together with partners ARD Degeto (Germany), ITV (UK) and NPO (Holland) – has confirmed that the second season of Amsterdam-based detective series Van der Valk has begun production.
Marc Warren (Beecham House, The Good Wife) reprises his role as Commissaris Piet Van der Valk, and Maimie McCoy (All Creatures Great and Small, Grantchester), Luke Allen-Gale (The Borgias), Elliot Barnes-Worrell (Ready Player One), Darrell D’Silva (Domina) and Emma Fielding (Years and Years, Les Misérables) all return to their respective roles, with guest stars soon to be announced. Michele Buck is the Executive Producer for Company Pictures and Chris Murray is returning as the lead writer and showrunner.

Storylines explored will include an explosive battle between an alternative community and the city’s establishment, the dysfunction of a family at the heart of the city’s historic diamond industry, and sexual exploitation within the world of classical music that goes right to the top.”
